The journey
The Northern Highlands takes you from Hanoi’s historic streets to the mountain landscapes of Sapa, privately and without rushing. A night in Hanoi lets you arrive gently. Then three nights in the highlands bring the Fansipan cable car, the rice terraces of Muong Hoa Valley and village life, before a final evening back in the capital. Each day has one or two main moments, a private vehicle and an English-speaking guide, and plenty of time to take it all in.
Journey highlights
A gentle first evening in Hanoi’s French Quarter and around Hoan Kiem Lake
A private, scenic drive from the capital into the mountains
The Fansipan cable car to the summit area of Vietnam’s highest peak, about 3,143 metres
Muong Hoa Valley’s terraced fields and a respectful village visit with your guide
A slow highland morning in Sapa before returning to Hanoi
A farewell dinner in Hanoi, with a table reserved by your guide
Your journey, day by day
Day 1 — Arrive in Hanoi
A private welcome at Noi Bai International Airport and a transfer to your hotel. If you feel refreshed, take a gentle guided walk through the French Quarter and around Hoan Kiem Lake, followed by dinner at a carefully chosen Vietnamese restaurant.

Day 2 — The journey to the highlands
Travel north by private vehicle, with a comfortable stop along the way, as the landscape shifts from the Red River delta to the mountains. Arrive in Sapa with time to settle into your hotel and enjoy the cool mountain air.

Day 3 — Fansipan, the Roof of Indochina
Take the mountain train and cable car up Fansipan for wide views over the Hoang Lien Son range when the weather allows. The summit area involves stairs at altitude, so you can choose a shorter route. Spend the afternoon resting at the hotel, with tea or a spa treatment.

Day 4 — Muong Hoa Valley and village life
Explore Muong Hoa Valley with your guide, among terraced rice fields shaped by generations of farming, and visit a local village with respect for the families who live there. Walking routes are adjustable, and viewpoints can be reached by vehicle.

Day 5 — A slow Sapa morning, then back to Hanoi
Choose one gentle experience: Sapa market, a short walk, coffee with a mountain view, or simply more time at the hotel. Then travel back to Hanoi by private vehicle for a farewell dinner in the capital.

Day 6 — Departure
Breakfast at your hotel, then a private transfer to Noi Bai International Airport, timed to your flight.
